A lot of men are concerned with the size of their penis. Social standards put a lot of pressure on those who naturally have smaller genitals. But is there anything that can be done in this case? The answer is yes.
Penis enlargement surgery is a procedure that helps men to feel more confident about their bodies and fully transform their sexual life. However, such a procedure is fairly new, so the potential patient should think carefully.
How expansive is it?
To start with, penuma is the only cosmetic surgery approved by the FDA’s administration. Such kind of procedures are quite hard to perform thus its cost is rather high – $15,000. It is also necessary to pay a $1 000 deposit before the operation.
Penuma is out of health insurance coverage and it serves only as a cosmetic enhancement and not as a treatment of erectile dysfunction.
At the moment there are only two practitioners who have the right to carry out the surgery. One of them is James Elist who was the initial founder of such surgery.
In the following extracts, you will find out more information on the way the procedure is worked out and what you need to consider before going to the specialist.
How the procedure is performed?
To make your penis appear bigger, the practitioner inserts a naturally shaped silicone implant under your foreskin thus making the size of your genitals bigger and wider. The patient may choose one of the preferable sizes: L, XL and XXL.
It is also important to understand the anatomical structure of the penis that gives it its shape.
The first one consists of two pieces of tissues which are placed parallel one to another along the top of your penis.
The other one is a one-piece tissue placed at the lower part of your genitals, surrounding the urethra.
The surgery will be performed according to your anatomical structure, so the enlargement would look natural yet noticeable.
While this procedure is not very popular, patients who had it claim that their penis became twice larger than it was before the penuma.
What you should think about?
There are certain things about penuma you should keep in mind. If you have troubles with one of the facts mentioned below, you probably should wait for some time or refuse the idea.
1. You have to be circumcised before having surgery;
2. The general anaesthesia is used;
3. You will have to abstain from sex and masturbation for a month;
4. Your penis will look swollen for some time before taking its natural shape.
Other than that, the surgery will not leave you with strict limitations and a long recovery.
What are the side effects?
After the penuma the patient may experience certain unpleasant side effects such as:
- General weakness;
In addition to that, if you are sensitive to anaesthetics there is an increased risk of having pneumonia, heart attack or stroke.
The first weeks of recovery may be followed by pain and lack of sensitivity, but it will go away within some time. It is necessary to follow the doctor’s advice to recovery as fast as possible.
There are also some more severe follow-up issues including contamination of the silicone implant, the disjunction of stitches.
In this case, you should contact the doctor as soon as possible to prevent worsening of the conditions.
Apart from the complications mentioned, the procedure is considered to be safe and effective for more than 80% of men. And only 3% had serious complications could not live with the implants and decided to remove it.
